The Lodge to Lodge Half Marathon and 10 km Wandle Walk/Run is held annually, along the picturesque Inland road between Mt Lyford and Waiau, North Canterbury.
This year the Lodge to Lodge was held on
24 October 2015
|The race is organised by the Waiau Citizens Association as a community event. A very successful first year event in 2010 has prompted the organisers to keep offering this great opportunity for runners and walkers of all abilities to have a great day in the beautiful North Canterbury country side. To enhance the day for the whole family there are loads of activities around the finish line. From an art and craft market to a decorated bike race, bouncy castle etc. Around 1 pm the traditional Grand Parade will pass through Waiau village with lots of interesting vehicles. All in all a great place to hang around for the day!|
TRANSPORT from Waiau Hotel (ie finishline) to the start point is possible for a small fee (if pre registered). Please click the box on entry form. Half marathon bus leaves at 8 am and 10km bus leaves at 9 am from Waiau Lodge Hotel.
A kids running race is part of the Lodge to Lodge Half marathon and Bayleys10 km walk/run. The start is at the historic Highfield Woolshed and the course runs along the Inland road to Waiau. Finish line is in front of the Waiau Lodge Hotel. Total length of the course 2.5 km. A great distance for primary school children as a first introduction to running a real race ! Registration is on the day only at one of the stalls on the Village Green (opposite finishline)

Conditions of Entry
|1.||All competitors compete at their own risk, and the organisers will not accept liability for any personal injury or mishap during the race.|
|2.||All competitors must be of sufficient fitness to complete the course that they enter.|
|3.||Organisers reserve the right to withdraw from the race any competitor who shows signs of severe fatigue or injury during the race.|
|4.||All competitors must dress sufficiently for the conditions and weather likely to be experienced during the race. Remember this is an alpine environment and weather changes very rapidly.|
|5.||The event will be held in all weather conditions unless these are so extreme that the road is closed. In this instance the organisers will offer an alternative date, and reserve the right to retain all entry fees.|
|6.||Competitors must obey all course marshals, and follow the route as described and marked by the organisers, visiting the 3 check points (1 for the 10km) in the correct order.|
|7.||Competitors must wear their race number on their chest, to be visible at all times, and ensure it is recorded at the finish.|
|8.||All competitors must attend the race brief.|
|9.||All competitors must sign the indemnity on the entry form, which states that you have read, understood, and agree to these conditions of entry.|
Race starts at 424m above sealevel at Mt Lyford
and descends to 138m in Waiau.

Entries: must be on the official entry form, with your entry fee, (cheques, online, CC) and received prior to the closing date of 19th October 2015 at 12 noon. Please allow 3 days for post to reach Mt Lyford.
|Entry fee for the ½ marathon is $45 (juniors $25), for the relay $ 30 pp, for the 10km is $30 seniors and $15 for juniors. A late entry fee of $10 will be added for all entries after this day. Please enter by 19th October and save yourself $10.|
|Refunds will be given up to the closing date of 19th October, minus $7 admin fee. No refunds will be given after this date.|
|Walkers are welcome to compete on both courses, and there will be a separate category for these competitors. Please note that if you are a walker, you need to WALK all the way (not run at all!)|
|Registration will be at Mt Lyford Lodge from 7.30-8.50 am on Saturday 24 October for the ½ marathon and from 8.00-9.50am at the Wandle Bridge (start 10 km). You will receive your race number and final details then. Please register early and do not attempt to do so while the race brief is taking place! Please park as directed.|
|Race brief for the half marathon will take place at Mt Lyford Lodge at 9.00 am. Race brief for the 10 km walk/run will be at 10 am at Wandle Bridge. All competitors must be present at this.|
|Start time for the Half Marathon will be at 9.30 from the Mt Lyford Horse Treks paddock, and the 10km will be at 10.30am from the Wandle Bridge location.|
|Drinks, toilets and markers: Toilets will be located at Mt Lyford Lodge and Wandle Bridge (start 10 km). Drink stations are located at 5, 10 and 16 km. Distance markers will be at 5, 10 and 15 km and the last 3 km.|
|Gear transport: is available from both start locations. Ask at registration for a bag with your race number. Put your marked bag into the vehicle marked ‘Gear transport’. No responsibility can be taken for unmarked gear that is left with this car. Pick up outside Waiau Lodge Hotel.|
|Transport from Waiau to start location: if you have opted for transport to the start location (tick box on entry form !) please park your car in one of the side roads in Waiau and gather at Waiau Lodge Hotel at 7.45 am for half marathon and 8.45 am for the 10 km race. Please note that this is organised transport and we cannot allow for last minute decisions if you want to use this. Please note: We only provide transport BEFORE the race to get you to your start location. Park your car at the finishline in the morning and take the bus to the start. After the race you will have to sort out your own transport.|
|Prize giving will be at approx 2pm. This will take place at the Finish area in front of the Waiau Lodge Hotel, along with the distribution spot prizes. You need to be present to collect your spotprize.|
