Winter
- Ice skating (see ice skating). Situated in Mt Lyford Village is this great outdoor ice skating rink. Skate hire available; also open in evenings under lights and with music.
- Ski field: Mt Lyford Alpine Resort (www.mtlyford.co.nz). The sunny Terako ski area, an ideal family field, offers a great learners area as well as challenging runs for intermediate and advanced skiers. The day lodge/restaurant and carpark is centrally located.
Summer

- Mountain biking; explore Mt Lyford and surrounding bush on your mountainbike.
- Cycling: during your Alpine Pacific triangle cycle trip, stop for the night at Mt Lyford Holiday Homes and we will look after you, meals included.
All year round
- Horse riding with Mt Lyford Horse Treks ( www.lyfordtreks.co.nz ). Mt Lyford Horse Riding offers trekking from two hours to 7 days, lessons and more. We teach and apply the principles of natural horsemanship to \"build a bond beyond belief\".
